I seem to remember that there are a few A Song of Ice and Fire fans here so I just thought I'd post this.

I think I just did a little poo.

I don't know, Judging by GRRM's Blog he seems to be very involved in casting and scriptwriting and such so I, possibly naively, have high hopes for it.

Don't get lazy!

After many recommendations from other ASoIaF fans I've finally got around starting on Robert Jordan's 'Wheel of Time'... Wish me luck, I've only got, oh 12 books to get through.

The first one was amazing.

If the characters would all just get together and have a discussion where everybody lays their cards on the table, they would all see their way through to a solution in 2-3 books. By 5 you'll be well sick of the main characters, especially the Aes Sedai. If you can make it through 8 without shouting at the book and throwing it against a wall a few times, there is something broken inside you.

Wheel of Time isn't worth the slog. Try Joe Abercrombie's First Law trilogy or R. Scott Bakker's Prince of Nothing series instead.

HBO looks to have their game faces on for this one. I'm a bit concerned about successive seasons considering how crazily expansive the series gets, but we'll worry about that if it gets renewed. Just excited for the first season. :)

it's got Sean Bean, it will destroy.

ohhhh and Harry Lloyd from Robin Hood

EDIT: i just hope this doesn't end up like Rome, Awesome show but too expensive too make for how many people watch it...

That, and filming in Rome itself. GoT is primarily going to be filmed in the Paint Hall studios in Belfast, with a second set in Morocco (where they shot Kingdom of Heaven, actually) and occasional location shoots at various UK castles. So that should work out to be a lot cheaper.

Just found a picture of Sean Bean in character as Eddard Stark

Just saw this thread!!

I read the first 3 books, and have heard about this HBO production for a few months now.
can't wait to see it! I hope they won't fail me. I should get on board with the other books too, the first 3 were great!

Hell yeah. Sean Bean is a perfect Eddard Stark. This gonna rule. (*crosses fingers*)

WINTER IS FUCKING COMING, BITCHES!
WINTER IS COMING.
