How do I "Sneap" a snare?

Yeah, you're right, I guess i was looking for a sort of starting point, because snare's are the thing I struggle the most with. Sorry Andy if I seemed ungreatful, it wasn't meant in that way in the slightest.

Wait a minute....
D-verb, SPX... I just searched the crappiest granniest metalic reverb I could imagine...
I found my old (1999) copy of DFX plugins... Beleive it or not, It sound great in the (metal) mix while way more reputable reverbs always seem to drown everything... What's the deal with that?
