How do you guys psyche yourselves up before tracking?

If I would drink beer everytime I record somthing, I had a serious alcohol problem. ;)

But when it comes to vocal recording ...sometimes I need some drinks to get in the right mood.

I often think the more I prepare myself the more I suck because I start to over-think about it. The best if you have time is to track and track again without thinking if you missed the last note it's a fucking drama. You just redo it until it's done, patiently.

I like to turn the volume up, mix the guitars not too loud over the song, so that I can have the vibe of the song, like playing live, to give it some groove. Or, hope so

I've never had a problem with tracking. There's nothing different about what I do in the studio and live, I warm up and play, just in the studio I get to stop and re-do something if it's not perfect.

There's less reason to be nervous in the studio, you damn well won't be the worst musician ever recorded - YouTube shows that.

A beer might help to get me from brains-mode to emotions-mode, but I never did a good guitar track after consuming alcohol of any dosis. I play sloppy and even worse: I don't hear it. The hangover is doubled the next day ;-)
For vocals it's different, though. I tracked some of my best vocals after a full bottle of red wine and it didn't sound like I have been drunk (don't know if I can repeat that, maybe half a bottle would be sufficient...)

lol for the pot smokers before tracking here's a question for you, I cannot find anyone that sells pot anymore lol. Some people I knew got arrested and I've never gone exploring for more. I hear people say they can buy it off the internet but I think it's fake. Anyone here know?
