How does this demo sound?

Here's a little peak of a demo my band is currently working on.
This is only Drums and Guitars as I am struggling at mixing the keys in.
I'd like your opinions on this one, especially about the drums wich are real drums.
I replaced the kick and snare by samples we made out of the kit.
The guitars were dual-miked on a single 16 inch cab. They had an enormous, but pleasing low-end wich I had to cut a lot to make space for the bass.

there is 15 seconds of silence or so at the beginning so don't start troubleshooting your set

cymbals sound really bad over here. they sound very 8-bit. the kick sounds a bit weird too.
the guitar tone is... really lacking something.

any more details about how recorded each element? perhaps we can help you out on this

About the cymbals sounding like 8-bit, they are real miked ones, I may have high-passed them a little high tought because the kick was bleeding alot in every single microphone. What's wierd about the kick's sound? It was replaced by a sample of the kit itself as the snare. The rest of the kit is real and simply quantized. What would you like to know more about?
