Also I think the default speedtest server might actually be part of the Uni network or something, I'll try it on a different one some time.

My home internet is ~half as fast as challenge_everything's, so i guess my internet karma is balanced out somewhat

yeah, it was the left hand ov god speaking to me for sure. last summer my neighbor whose internet i was sharing moved while i was on a monthlong vacation, and i thought for sure i was doomed to have to get my own (which is a stupidly lengthy bureaucratic process in japan, taking up to 6 weeks). when i got home i opened up my laptop and a magic network was there. shaZAM!
