Does the song Painkiller and also probably the entire album perfectly define "Heavy metal" to anybody else here moreso than any other metal album ever released??

I mean the production, the countless 5 octave high metal screams, the twin solos, the riffs, the drumming, the lyrics... ahhhhh!!!! Perfection.

The same is true of all the other songs I've heard from that album, such as Nightcrawler, Metal Meltdown and even Touch of Evil. I look forward to hearing the rest of it as soon as my copy of the CD arrives .

Next of my list of Priest albums to get is Unleashed In the East (remastered) and Screaming For Vengeance. British Steel is already in the post .

A Touch Of Evil is my favourite Priest track ever

Wait, 2nd favourite, I forgot Beyond The Realms Of Death hehe.

Those 2 songs and Living After Midnight were the highlights of the concert for me.

What does everyone think of Defenders of the Faith? I like The Sentinel and Freewheel Burning (Eat Me Alive is good for a laugh too), but what's the rest of that album like?

Crossy, did you mean the British Steel Classic Album DVD or the Brixton concert that Priest recorded for DVD late last year? Not sure when it's being released, but the setlist is up at www.judasprest.com . It looked like quite a show .

Ohhh Defenders is brilliant! Better than Screaming For Vengeance in my opinion.

Rock Hard Ride Free is amazing, Jawbreaker rules, every song rules!! And Heavy Duty with the Defenders Of The Faith outro is the ultimate metal anthem!!!
