well i got more at my school. i have like 50 metalheads at my school and once i was sitting in my usual corner and one of em went over to talk to me and i was listening to Emporer "IX Equiibrium"- Curse You All Men and he told all of them to come over and listen and well. we now have 40 more black metalheads at our school. and 2 are black. this happened a year ago and all of em went into different degrees the guys who listened to popular ones. Opeth, Children Of Bodom, In Flames. Death etc. and only like 4 actually really got into it. if you've ever heard of The Essence Embraced that's what those 4 listen to. weird how in the course of one day like 50 people changed from ppl who listened to Linkin PArk to Opeth. sorta sucks for me though. but my point is with slipknot every kid is running around saying they are hardcore and then some guy tells them they arent and they go look into it and find the superior Opeth.

Does anyone know when Opeth's new album is coming out

Where do you go to school? You sound like you might be in high school..so where do you go? Franklin, Centennial, Page? I'm up here in Brentwood and there is absolutely no one with the musical tastes that I have. There are about 50 metalheads in Franklin? I find that hard to believe. Franklin is mostly a hick town full of wiggers and rednecks. But honestly, so is Brentwood.

Man, I'm really surprised by the amount of Tennesseans on this board. It's really cool. And we're mostly centralized around Nashville. We should all get together and discuss. I need more metal-savy friends. Heh. :D

 Yea, I know what you mean, the only other city in USA I see more than a couple of people from, in here, is Chicago.

If you never had friends that listened to anything underground or never had internet access until after high school, all you'd know is what's on the radio. The average music on the radio doesn't stand out. Then a point is reached where something is lacking. Then, there's a person that pops some head phones on you or they email you an MP3 of something you knew nothing of before, and you're amazed. Shocked even that no one else has showed you yet. Well, that's how it was for me anyway. So, obviously the fan base would be much larger with better broadcasting.

I think MFN really helped the sales for Blackwater Park compared to the other labels.

Exactly! Once upon I time I listened to...lets just say not metal. My friends and I were into D&D, Shadow Run, ect. A friend bought Bolt Throwers' Realm of Chaos simply for the cover art. They laughed at the music, I was hooked! Mainstream music is fine, but I love the feeling when I find music that no one else knows about.

yeah i live in franklin but 50 is nothing copared to all the wiggers and hicks. there is one kid no joke he thinks he's black. and if u call him white he punches you. funny but really really sad.centennial hell no if u've ever seen that place there is no hope. i walked in once and i was greeted by some pregnant 15 year old. actually like 5 or so. or they were really fat but had small heads.

LOL..I know exactly what you mean. I had summer school there a while back, and man, was it a shithole. I guess it reflects on the people that go there.
