To the guys renting out space for their studios:

How much are you paying monthly? I think I found a steal of a deal, through my uncle who does real estate around here.

He will rent out a space that's about 1000 Sq ft for 200$ a month!!!!! I'm really thinking about doing this.

Im paying around $1500 a month including my utilities (covered by the owner). Its a pretty good deal, I'm renting out two adjacent rooms at a rehearsal studio that I have treated as much as I can and put in a window / cable snakes. My tracking room is about 6m x 5m with 3.5m meter ceilings and my control room is 5m x 4m x 3.5m which is ok. I'm really enjoying it here though, I'm limited to working during the day on weekdays, all day saturday. The rest of the time well its a completely full 14 room rehearsal studio, so thats not great for productivity. Its working out well though as 54 bands go through the place a week, and its already gotten me a fair bit of work :)

Us aussies are getting raped on our rent. I'm living in a big shed with two big rooms with no kitchen/water/toliet/shower and have to do all that stuff in the house at the front of the property, populated by 6 indian dudes in a 2 bedroom house !! $900 a month it costs me not including bills and Im not even close to the city. In fact I live in a suburb called Chadstone which is not a nice area. I never realised it was this bad compared to other parts of thr world

Connersville, Indiana

15 Year Mortgage on 2500 Square feet house with 1 acre of land

~$700 a month

Holly shit, does that include taxes? I've been looking for a house and even a little dank $80k house with $10k down still ends up being $900 a month with taxes around here.

I need to get the fuck out of this state, stupid city blood sucking upstate.

WTF?
I'll have a room for rent later in the year in Melton which will have kitchen/water/toilet/shower for less than that (plus bills) if you're interested.

Thanks for the offer dude but Chadstone is where all my students are. Chadstone's maybe 20 minutes drive to Melbourne with no traffic, closer to an hour in traffic, for memory Melton's a bit further. Honestly I would prefer it out there but the only way I can afford to live alone is living near the rich suburbs and charging big bucks to teach rich kids. I don't dare teach out of home. I'm not exaggerating, I really do pay $900 a month for a big shed, and all the proper one bedroom units in the area go for a little over a $1000 and aren't even big enough to fit my bed in the bedroom, yet alone the studio equipment.

Damn joey, that's a steal!

The apartment I live in is close to 2500 sq/ft and is 800$ alone for rent!
