How much are you paying for rent?

This thread makes me want to move really bad. My girlfriend and I pay $1196 a month, NOT INCLUDING UTILITIES, for a 700 sq/ft apartment. And this was one of the better deals in the area as well. We shopped around for a while before settling on this. Thats what i get for living near San Francisco.

Dude.. Do you live in beverly hills or what?

I was paying $1260 a month, not including utilities in Los Angeles for a 2 bedroom, which was actually pretty cheap for the area. My buddy got a 1 bedroom close to the beach and it's costing him 2 grand. I just moved in with my sister in Arizona, cause the wife and I are going back to school and the mortgage on her house is only $600!

i pay $720/mo. for the mortgage on a 2000 sq. ft. house on a pretty big city lot, not all too far from mr. sturgis

and...while his place may be cheap as fuck, i also have to say that he lives in the asshole of america, so everyone take that into consideration before getting all "OMG I NEED TO MOVE!!"

Thanks for the offer dude but Chadstone is where all my students are. Chadstone's maybe 20 minutes drive to Melbourne with no traffic, closer to an hour in traffic, for memory Melton's a bit further. Honestly I would prefer it out there but the only way I can afford to live alone is living near the rich suburbs and charging big bucks to teach rich kids. I don't dare teach out of home. I'm not exaggerating, I really do pay $900 a month for a big shed, and all the proper one bedroom units in the area go for a little over a $1000 and aren't even big enough to fit my bed in the bedroom, yet alone the studio equipment.

Fair enough. I didn't realise you teach out that way.

Actually, I'd like to know more about what you teach, rates, etc. If I can afford it I wouldn't mind some lessons this year to kick my ass into gear properly.
PM me if you have the time.

+1

you couldn't pay me to live there(no offense joey)

300$ a month for a 1 bedroom apartment including EVERYTHING, which means my water boiler is on since october! not metaphorically, OCTOBER!

Fuck should move back to Hawaii. Avg house price in Brisbane is upwards of 500k, small shitty units will still set you back at least 200k. Mortgage repayments would be your guys monthly per week and that's over 30 years. Just to rent a house I'm paying 520/week. Studio facility is only about 2000/month.

 TRY TO LIVE IN CALIFORNIA WITH JEFF, OR WHERE I LIVE. The CHEAPEST you can get a LEGAL studio apartment for (with paint coming off the walls) in my city is $1100 a month, plus utilities. Shit is fucked up. If you want to buy a house around here, taxes will also rape you.

it's all about the cost of living in your area. I agree that some places are just ridiculous though.

For example, I live in a suburb of philadelphia in a small 1 bedroom apartment and I pay $855/month and some additional stuff like electricity and cable/internet. So usually around $930-$950. 70/30 split between me and my girl. However, i get waaaay less taxes out of my check because i live and work in bensalem. If i lived in philly, it'd be a lot different.

Out in the midwest it's so much more cheaper. I could practically have a house and a studio for what I pay here but I'd probably have a job that pays significantly less.

cali rent is seriously ridiculous. i lucked out and found a 2 br. place out there for $750/mon, but i looked for months to find it, and it was in a shitty location
