Jax, Fl
Things for strap buttons, input jacks, humbucker rings etc.

From what I remember, break off some toothpicks, jam em in there with some wood glue, let dry, redrill, presto?

I wouldn't just jam toothpicks in there. And if you do make sure they are Real Wood toothpicks. But if the hole is bigger than toothpick size get a wood dowel the same size as the hole. Those types of wood dowels should be available at any hardware store.

If it was a strap button, which would concern me more because of durability, I would drill out the hole just a tad and glue in a wooden dowel.

If it was just a pickup ring or something like that, the toothpick technique or something like that would be fine with me.

You can also use chopsticks, golf tees, etc., etc. as a wooden dowel.

I filled mine with plastic wood, 5 bucks at home depot. Has held very strongly ever since. I don't understand the whole toothpick method.

take the stripped out hole, put a drop of glue down inside, then put a toothpick on either side and break them off flush with the guitar body

re-insert the screw, it'll mangle the toothpicks but create new threads with them at the same time, the glue holds it all together

in all honesty when my old guitar tech told me about this i thought it was piontless, but i used it for a stripped out strap button hole in a pinch once...and nearly 5 years later it's still holding strong, i've beat the hell outta that guitar too

Yep... both ends of my first Strat have the toothpick treatment. Have held strong for about 7 years now.
