how to generate impulses?!

hi, i want to know how to generate those impulses.

i think these impulse thing is something that could be growing up well...

so i decided to impulse some of the guitar and bass gear i can get..

..but i couldnt find a thread about making impulses...

so.. how do i make an impulse for sir1?

i have to generate a test tone by deconvoler, which i need to run through my gear (signal chain as short as possible) and record with my favorite programm(cubase), and than load both into deconvoler and deconvoler generates a impluse file by processing both files by finding the differences?

right?
