Take a very short listen and like the Framus most! Hey I play this cab ... this makes my day ;)

Cool. Thanks for posting this. Anyone know what's the difference between the Marshall 1960 and Marshall 1960 Lead? The 1960 sounds very thin in comparison to the 1960 Lead.

From the magazine:

Marshall 1960: Celestion Greenback
Marshall 1960 Lead: Celestion G12T-75

in the Marshall website the 1960 is listed as G12T-75. It has many 1960 options but no Lead series. Am I missing something here?

As in Marshall site:

1960 - G12T-75
1960V - G12 Vintage 70
1960C - G12M-25
1960TV- G12M-25
1960X - G12M-25

I´m on the market to get a cab, by the test above I really enjoyed the 1960 Lead, although it is a tough call to choose between that and the ENGL, aparently V30.

^ I have 2 1960 Lead cabs A & B...one is from the JCM 800 series...the other is from the 900 series...both have G12T-75's in them...don't know if that helps you. They are both pretty old as well.

Hm, out of the 57's I seem to like the Framus, Mesa, VHT and Engl cabs the best, based on their character, tightness and general tone. The Engl was definatelly a surprise, so tight! I'm also quite pleased to hear the Mesa and Framus dont sound as different as say the Mesa and Engl. It puts my mind to ease in using the Framus.
Cheers for that Daunt.
