I always loved the last 4 Opeth cd's, and didn't care for Orchid.

when i first got orchid, i didnt like it at all. i had bought MAYH and Still Life first, and was judging it from that angle. i thought it was weak and raw.

however, after a very detailed listen (massive headphones, really loud) i realised what a great album it is. I love it, and rate it and morningrise as my 2 favourites.

Orchid was the second Opeth album I bought and it is my favorite along with Morning Rise. I just cannot pick a favorite between them, except that riff at 13:38 in BRI does hold some favoritism.

Back to topic now. Orchid was pretty hard for me to get into. Especially since Still Life was the first I purchased. They are such diverse albums, but at the same time, they totally rock.

Orchid is superb. The begining to In Mist she was Standing sets the tone for the album and the end riff of Apostle in Truimph brings it to a sweet end. There is not a bad song on this CD.
