The really aggressive sound of the compression on that kit gives it alot of character. And to think Ville Valo played drums on that album!

okay, I missed most of the questions, should've asked this earlier. Hiili said that he EQ's and compresses the incoming signal quite a lot and uses Sound Replacer on drums. But he mentioned that for example there was no beat detective used on any of the HIM records he recorded. edit: He said he usually leaves only bass, snare, kick and the vocals on the center
