Alex, you're confusing the idea of being conservative with the current Republican party. This is simply not the case anymore, the Republicans are not conservative, they're "christ-ervative" because that is what their inane, insane policies revolve around. Real conservative values revolve around a small government, and low taxes in conjunction. However, I'd also point to Democratic insincerity and their willingness to do anything to get a vote and an attitude that at least simulates the tricking and belittling of people into voting for them, lest they be labelled functionally retarded. Funny how a group pretty ready to attack a different religious group is now clinging ever tighter to their own religion. Perhaps we really are in the middle of a Holy War and if that's the case, I quit. Right now, neither party has it right, neither party runs proper campaigns, both parties have at some point forgotten that what's important to our governmental system which is that the people be heard and their views count, not push whatever policies will get you into office so you can reneg on campaign promises and do your own thing. The problem is now that no one can compromise anymore, Americans seem to have forgotten that compromise is what our country is built on or do I need to remind everybody about the 3/5 Compromise, and the Connecticut Compromise that were both made during the Constitutional Convention? Furthermore, the reason people can't compromise is because of what Josh said about Conservatives being mentally deficient and Democrats being aloof, arrogant assholes. No one is taking the time to actually listen to and understand why someone thinks the way they do. Maybe if people remembered that, made some compromises, our entire union wouldn't be so god-damned divided. This would, of course, require people to not immediately label people of dissimilar beliefs retarded, unless they actually are, in which case its awesome and funny.
