.....but why are you favoring the West Coast? Again, you have fans in ALL areas of the country...I wasn't able to make it out last month because I have parental obligations. Yeah, being a father to my son comes first.

I just don't understand how you guys can go to Europe, but not elsewhere in your own country....I don't mean to sound bitter(but, I am).

Imagine if Aerosmith only played in Boston? Or Kansas in Topeka?

And now I read you are going to play in Cal again in July?

:erk: :yell: :erk: :yell:

Well from everything I have seen, the music scene is a LOT different in Europe - and bands like ENCHANT can play 'larger' venues and festivals and sell more tickets - plain and simple. So for a record label with limited fundage for having a band tour, there's more of a guarantee on breaking even or better.

As for West Coast, that being the bands homebase, I would imagine that it's easier (and cheaper) for the guys to play on 'home turf' since there wouldn't be a huge amount of traveling involved. (not to mention being able to get right back to those .... ugghh.....day jobs...)

Sadly, this is the way things go..... hell, look how much bigger DREAM THEATER has gotten over the past few years - and I STILL can't see them down here in South Florida unless they are on a multi-bill show. Last time they were here on their own, it was 2000.

I don't buy that explanation. I'd like to hear something from the GUYS - regarding this question.

I'm a fan. Plain and simple. I've bought ALL the CDs, even XEN.

I don't think I'm less of one by not travelling umpteen thousands of miles to see the imulcast gig....and i don't think the reverse is true, either...

All those who travelled outside their 'comfort zone' are no better fans than I am...You either have NO responsibilities, make more money than I do, or just have better babysitting resources....

Just don't become like RUSH: 3 talented musicians who couldn't care less about the fans....

Don't be angry with the guys in the band... I'm sure if it was 100 percent up to them they'd do a Rhode Island mini-tour in a heartbeat!

I'm NOT mad at the guys, per se...I'm mad at the situation that exists which makes it near impossible for artists to do anything on their own...I guess they are handcuffed by their label...

believe me.....you book with Tweeter Center(Mansfield, MA....10 miles from Boston), and you'll get fans.....Of course I'd want a front row seat.....lol

There ARE ways.....

I genuinely believe that Enchant does everything they can to play as many places as they can for as many people as they can. I wouldn't blame Enchant, nor would I blame InsideOut. You say you can't fly out to California because you've got family and financial obligations, but that doesn't make you any less of a fan.

I absolutely agree, and I'm sure the band does as well. The band has the exact same problem...they have financial obligations and families as well. Sometimes they can pull something off (with CGT and Beard), but a lot of the time they can't. It's not their fault anymore than it's your fault you couldn't come to California, only take your problems and remember there's 5 of them. ;)

I honestly believe Enchant is one of the hardest working bands out there, so please take it easy on them, okay?

I agree, NO ONE is any less a fan for not being able to travel. And it does suck that the label can't have the guys touring anywhere and everywhere all the time. And the guys are incredibly hard working...I don't know how they can have day jobs, and in some cases family/kids, and still have the energy, and will, to perfect their songwriting, playing and recording. There are so many decisions to make...do we all keep our day jobs, moonlight as performers and fans, or go the Grateful Dead route, and give our lives entirely to the music. The reality of living in the USA is that it's difficult to pick the latter. I'd love to indulge my creativity 100 percent and make money at it, share it with the public, and not have the day job, but you can't really do that anymore, unless you somehow get that explosion of monetary success.

There are so many circumstances surrounding whether any of us can make it to a show or not--I'm lucky that I have some time off, and a self-sufficient teenager. I am SO LUCKY I live close to where the dvd filming concert was held. If it had been on the east coast, I would have been one of those watching at home... It just goes to show how much of an investment we have in this band--their power and creativity draw us in so deeply that we don't want to miss ANYTHING they produce. I'll bet we'd all pay big $$$ to even get a raw copy of the dvd tape. I guess all this seems easy for me to say, living 'next door' but trust me, I can feel some of your pain. The Europe tour with SB was devastating for me. If we keep this kind of enthusiasm going, maybe Enchant will be able to tour more widely...I certainly hope so.

P.S. Yes, what you said above.. that is THE most important thing. I work in a school, and you'd be amazed how easily many people pick their own pleasure over their kid's security and happiness. Good for you!

S to M Man

Hey Buy Dave's explanation, and Kristen, and the Disco mans as well

They are all on it! and accurate, you would hear the same explantions from us the band!

it is all about $$$$$$ + time away from work, which is difficult + being away from children families and loves ones!

Aerosmith don,t have those issues to deal with they sell a ton of discs and have more money than they can spend!

There is no favoring any coast we will get back there in time! we have far too many friends and incredible people back there to see and play for! from new freinds in Long Island, Conn, Baltimore etc etc etc all the way down the Eastern seaboard! we would love nothing more than to make the trip when we can and the time is right. Inside Out is an awesome label as well they are not handcuffing us! they are helping us make DVD,s and sending us out to Europe! etc etc etc they rock!

Buy a ticket and bring your kid out to Disneyland, go see the Dodgers get there ass kicked and come see the show, it is an incredible line up brother! if you need a concert vacation weekend consultant Mare, she is the guru for that! :worship:

I will but you beers and get you in the show if you move my Bass Cabs and heavy ass gear in!

Seriously thanks for being such a great fan dude, we will see you soon enough hopefully!

Well I will add to Ed's reply on this thread. Some of you may remember this thread was also started back when we were on tour. I seem to remember typing up a reply in an internet cafe in Paris!

I think I will start by saying that I understand your frustration S2M. There are many bands that I wish I could see that don't come my way very much if at all. Marillion and IQ to name a couple... I feel extremely lucky that I saw Marillion back for the This Strange Engine Tour at the Fillmore in San Francisco. Seems I remember being front row, up against the stage. I was going crazy! The opening band kicked butt;-)

Anyway, S2M here we go...

"I don't think I'm less of one by not travelling umpteen thousands of miles to see the imulcast gig....and i don't think the reverse is true, either..."

I agree. We don't expect people to travel hundreds of miles to see us, but we were extremely moved by the fact that so many people did!! It made the weekend very special.

"All those who travelled outside their 'comfort zone' are no better fans than I am...You either have NO responsibilities, make more money than I do, or just have better babysitting resources...."

I hear ya!! You see, Enchant is in the same boat!! We play as much as we can where ever we can, but we also have many responsibilities (day jobs), a lack of cash (the music business doesn't pay very well), and no babysitters (3/5 of the band have young kids)!!!

We would love to play across the US, but a tour has to be cost effective for the record co. It costs a ton of money to put people on the road. Bus drivers, road crew, plane tickets, etc. I know that you mentioned if Aerosmith only playing Boston... If Enchant had written Walk this Way, we would be playing your town regularly;-)

In saying all that, we are still trying to tour the US eventually, and remember that we did play Nearfest in Trenton NJ a couple of years ago which was great!!!

We are doing all we can. Please hang in there and hopefully there will play near you soon.
