I'd join but something tells me Elvis, Joan Jett and Duran Duran (amongst others) wouldn't be too welcome there since that's about all i'm listening to at the moment with very little metal mixed in.
Fuck that! I actually put on Bob Dylan on loop for a day or two once just to de-metalize the list a bit. :loco:

I don't even have the audioscrobbler plugin anymore, I only listen to sample mp3s on the computer, if it's a CD it's in the stereo or on my headphones.

Heh yea i didn't mention Billy Idol, The Cult or Sublime either... I don't have a stereo anymore so the only place i listen to CDs would be my car otherwise i rip everything i want to hear to my PC.

ive been listening to mostly classic rock lately. zep, sabbath, moody blues, tull, yes, ELP, etc...

as well as stuff like swans, radiohead, tenhi, and ulver since ive been sick as a dog.

continually listening to the new Taake though. :kickass:

Initial impressions:

Depeche Mode - Violator
The only people that don't like this album are close minded idiots who have never even heard 3 seconds from this marvelously wonderful and wonderfully marvelous album, and if they have, they are much more foolish than initial impressions would lead one to believe. Stunning.

Fantomas - Amenaza al Mundo
So far my least favorite Fantomas, but I haven't listened to it very much and the other two took a long time for me to get my head around anyhow. The coolness of The Director's Cut with the weirdness of Bungle.

Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
Pretty different than what I was expecting. This will be a lot of fun to dive into upon multiple listens, so far very dark and pretty F-ing good.

Meshuggah - I
HOLY FUCKING BALLS. Meshuggah is the perfect example of why I listen to extreme metal. This is heavy, this is cutting edge, this is KICK. ASS. SHIT.

So is this thread going to bump or what?

Fuck man, I have to leave UM until this shit is over. There is no reason to stress out because of some fucking website.

I used to listen to quite a bit of Depeche Mode in the late 80's. This was the last album I bought by them and it's one of their best. Do you listen to The Cure? Disintegration and Pornography are godlike.

Fantomas--That's probably my least favorite album by them. Although the new one is most like it, I like it better.

Joy Division--Respect the band, never really listened much.

Meshuggah--That's the reaction I was expecting.
