i have a terrible pro tools question..

so i've been using logic for recording, but recently made the switch to pro tools, now i can't figure out for the life of me what i'm doing wrong,

so recently i had a guitarist trying to hit this 2 measure part, he just played it multiple times, when i would go back listening for the best take, everytime i pause it would just go back to my in point, instead of just stopping where i just paused, i changed the setup, but now whenever i stop it now moves my start point along with it which i do not want.

so basically i just want to be stop my playback at a certain point without moving my start point or reverting back to it automatically..

i apologize for this noob question ha

i also encouraging making fun of me for it also.

press n i think it is, failing that its on the tool bar near the tab to transient function

On topic- not sure of the key command but its the icon directly under the pencil tool
