I have an incredibly weird problem

Using a POD HD Pro as an interface and recording in Reaper. When I turn on GuitarPro and Reaper at the same time, and I switch from Reaper back to GuitarPro, it changes the tempo and pitch of what's playing in GuitarPro to be faster, even though the key/tempo hasn't changed. I have no idea wtf is going on. Only clue that anything is amiss is that the POD HD has a "sample rate converter" light that is on, even though I've set the rate to 48k in both Reaper and on the physical unit. But that's always been that way and never caused trouble before. Any ideas?

Tempo in GP the same as the tempo in Reaper maybe?

Yeah, I just tried setting Reaper and the HD to 44.1k and now it's fine. But that doesn't make any sense, because I modified the exact same parameters to all match 48k last time, so there was no relative difference, unless Guitar Pro is somehow set to a sample rate itself and can't perform when the interface (the POD) is at 48k. Which I guess must be the case.
