i just downloaded the demo of trigger... how the hell do i import my OWN samples?!

Yeah needless to say the dude runs a pretty fucking shady operation. There should have been a disclaimer when purchasing stating that the instument maker wasn't available yet. Nobody had any idea whatsoever that it wasn't part of the plugin itself which is what everyone expected. Almost wish I had just waited for Drumagog 5.

Frankly from the ridiculous outpouring of self-righteous, conceited whining that resulted from the delays in the release schedule of damn near every one of the MANY plates Slate Digital currently has spinning (not especially here, but some of the complaining on Gearslutz was beyond ridiculous, some people were virtually accusing Slate of ripping them off on something they hadn't even bought yet) I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to break the instrument maker off from the main plugin so they could get Trigger out there as soon as they could.

In any case it makes a certain amount of sense leaving the instrument builder seperate. Not having to load a mass of code into memory on every plugin instance can't be bad.

well, I think that's too harsh...
his customer service is good, he has quality products etc.
I agree this "instrument-maker" thing is fucked up and if I'd have known it, it would totally have been a deal breaker for me.
but I don't think calling him or his business "shady" is fair...he's giving great discounts, never tries to fuck someone over and seems to be a nice and honest person.

This, and its only matter of time before you can use trigger in the way you want to. For free too (as far as i understand)

The slate team were probably just trying to get it out.

Eh just frustrated I guess. It seems every other plugin manufacturer manages to get things right the first time but every is always having problems with Slate's stuff. I like his products and he's always been helpful but man it is so frustrating trying to use his stuff most of the time.

Yep,

but they have a way of omitting details and dodging questions that gets a bit grating.

and we're still waiting on an answer to the Midi I/O in Logic problem, despite being assured that "it works fine" during the buildup to Triggers release.

in summary:
We have to wait xxx days(months) before we can make our own "libraries".
So, we all hold the best trigger prog atm and are damned to use it only with slate samples, if we wanna cover the whole velocity range...

+1

I'm lucky because of that guitar tone competition I didn't have to 'buy' it per-se, but the instrument maker thing seems a bit odd to me all the same. I'm usually auditioning samples and creating gogs on the fly when setting up sessions. Since most of us would print our sample tracks so we can manually phase align, the memory footprint of a drum replacer isn't a problem whatsoever, so the 'maker' aspect could've been integrated.

I know it's meant to go hand in hand as a promotional tool for SSD, but many of us just simply want a sample replacer.

But you can select your sample on the fly with trigger (you can load a single hit sample on the fly)....and when you find a sample that sounds good, you create your own multilayer file with the external program.
Anyway it's a great deal for the first month...also if we can't actually load and create our multisamples, we have a discount of 50% and it's not bad at all.
