I just found my new favourite tuning...

I tried everything between drop A and standard tuning and I didn't find anything that both sounded stellar and felt good to play to me (drop C# was almost there tho), but then I tried....

Drop E - E B E A C# F#

And I love it.

It's basically uptuned guitar that gives the standard tuning for us dropped tuning players; I can't play in standard tuning, but I really like how the strings are really really tight and the low end isn't fighting with the bass etc, and the best part is that this way I can play with other guys who play in standard tuning.

I think I'm going to play my whole album with this tuning.

Tom Delonge from Blink 182 does this live by tuning to drop D and putting a capo on the 2nd fret sometimes - it's basically so he can be lazy but still be in standard.

Its just Open C tuning. So when you strum its a C chord (i think). I recently learned how to play ocean by John Butler Trio and its in that tuning. Then i tuned my explorer to that and its really unique sounding

I'm visiting my parents in Helsinki for the next week and I will be taking my guitar to workshop because there is something wrong with the bridge volume knob (only has a sweet spot where the volume is on and otherwise goes mute, and the sweet spot is really tight)
