I just got April Ethereal's new CD 'Advent'...

??????
i thought this was a joke!!
this band is so lame, no matter how they sound, stealing both the band name and album name from your favourite band... the first is common, but the second.....at least do it from two different bands!

Ahhahahah! :heh: *cough* yes, sorry.

I just downloaded the three mp3s from their website, and.. my God, this sounds like a bad demo recorded in a WW2 bombshelter with your grandma's tape recorder and one mic! Lee_B said Akercocke's (or something like that. :P) latest album sounded like a demo, but this sure beats them to it.

And I don't hear a single tinge of Opeth in those songs.

Yeah, but when you take your band name from a song title you do it from classic, influential bands. I think there's a band out there for each Black Sabbath song there is ("Spiral Architect" among the more prominent), but from a current band like Opeth? And yes, both band and album is a bit much... but if you listen to the MP3's, it's sounds like they're just grabbing the titles with little regard for actually being influenced by the band. Hmmm... they seem to wear Bathory and Emperor shirts in their pictures.

Wow... even more, the last track of the record is called "Epilogue". It's very strange downloading a file called "April Ethereal-Epilogue.mp3" ... it's like it's a MAYH medley or something...

hehehe, a certain flop. I don't think we have to worry about seeing them in the stores much ;)

Hahahahaha, I thought this guy here was another fucking idiot posting some hasty guess of an album or some shit. But, not Jim. ;) I guess this is the closest that anyones ever actually come to copying Opeth. heh!

Haha, I was wondering when this lame excuse for a band would raise it's head on this forum.

I saw this lot supporting The Yattering in London this year. I went to the gig telling my mates that April Ethereal are supposed to be heavily influenced by Opeth. "Should be quite interesting" I thought.....

How wrong I was. I can quite easily say that this was the worst signed band I had ever seen. The fact that they'd ripped off Opeth titles etc, was bad enough, but they didn't sound anything like them. The genious of Opeth shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as them. I almost walked out there and then, but instead I just went to the bar and drunk many beers to sooth the pain ;)
