I just got off the phone from interviewing Mikael...

Yeah, this is of no surprise to me. I said a long time ago that I thought the sixth Opeth album would usher in a third "era" for the band, that Blackwater Park had carried them as far as they can go in this exact slowly-tweaking "style" from MAYH -> SL -> BWP after Orchid and Morningrise.

I look very much forward to it.

Thanks for the news!

Can't wait till this double Opeth album comes out!
I'm highly anticipating this new release and I am confident that it will be spectacular:)

hmmm...most of the time change is good. let's hope it's for the better.

This is maybe the first good thing that came out of the unfortunate fact that Opeth HAD to go on with Music For Nations and not Peaceville...because MFN is a much bigger label, maybe Peaceville wouldn't have had the resources or the guts to let them release a double-album. I'd be almost depressed if MFN _forced_ Opeth to change their style like they did in the past with some other bands...

:) let's be optimistic :)

P.S.: It seems to me that the Opeth members, or at least Åkerfeldt are slowly getting old

Of those, selling Cher memoribelia, definitely.
