Windir is one of the better Viking-themed Nordic metal bands that's around. They began as a very guitar-oriented, seriously aggressive black metal band (in the vein of Immortal, I'd say) and have gradually refined their sound to incorporate more and more epic-sounding passages and far more varied tempo changes. In short: they rule.

And I'm not surprised people who worship CoB don't like them.
