A friend is fairly new to Thrash metal, so I'm making him somewhat of an compilation disc, the best of Thrash metal.
But I need a little help, so far I've come up with these bands/songs, but It'd be great if you guys could tell me which bands/songs I should add/remove.

Metallica - Fight Fire With Fire
Testament - Over The Wall
Death Angel - The Ultra-Violence
Annihilator - Imperiled Eyes
Forbidden - Through Eyes Of Glass
Kreator - Extreme Aggression
SYL - Relentless
Darkane - Parasites of the unexplained
Exodus - A Lesson In Violence
Overkill - Wrecking Crew
Slayer - Raining Blood
Vio-Lence - Eternal Nightmare
Dark Angel - Leave Scars
Anthrax - Caught in a mosh

Sepultura - Arise
Nuclear Assault - Cold Steel
Xentrix - Desperate Remedies
Sodom - Persecution Mania

Thanks.

Possessed,
Coroner,
DeadHead,
Angel Dust,
Holy Terror,
Tankard,
Cryptic Slaughter
Terror Squad,
Anacrusis,
DRI,

VENOM (yes, they are thrash!)

this is what i could remember from the top of my head hehehe :)
i'll probbaly remember more later...

but your list is very good my friend!
(Sepultura- Arise? i always considered it to be more death metal than thrash- but why not?)

Would you maybe be able to split it into two CDs, so that you can give him like two songs from each band, then he could see what else the band has done and has a little more variety to judge from?

@ Lioness: Yeah, how could I forget Sadus?!
Thanks for the other songs too.. I'll look into them later ;)

@ Vic: Yeah I could perhaps do that, but for now it's just 1 disc.
Otherwise I will start bitching at myself "oh I want that song, no that one, no, ..that one!"

I'd take off "The Ultra-Violence" and replace it with something slightly more accessible, like "Mistress of Pain" or "Voracious Souls." Saves space, too. And "Leave Scars" isn't that great compared to other Dark Angel songs..."Merciless Death," "The Burning of Sodom," or "Psychosexual" would be better, IMO.

The link in my signature has some Torture Squad mp3s. Check those out, and maybe add "Horror And Torture" or "Pandemonium."

No Heathen!!! So yes, add Heathen to your list!
Some earlier Sepultura from the Schizophrenia era I mean.
Ulyssses Siren - now thats an excellent bay area thrash that nobody talks about!
:)

Here what I made to a friend of mine

-Exodus - Changing of The Guards
Poltergeist - Behind My Mask
Annihilator - Human Insecticide
Sadus - Fuel
Death Angel - Mistress of Pain
Exodus - Fabulous Disaster
Metallica - Dyer's Eve
Sodom - Baptism of Fire
Nuclear Assault - Inherrited Hell
Forbidden - Twisted Into Form
Anthrax - A.I.R.
Overkill - Elimination
...don't really remeber the rest of it!

Sadus and Heathen is a necesary addition to your list I will also add Sacred Reich, Voivod and Flotsam & Jetsam
