i started listening to that album again and its just fuckin amazing!

i love the "strained" vocals, it sounds like someone is trying the throttle ishahn!


btw...this is the only emperor album i've checked out, what should i check out next?

Yes get the live cd-dvd/vhs it is fucking excellent.

Or better still, just buy all of their albums, because they all rule.

Download 'Radical Cut' by Arcturus, it has Ihsahn doing that style of vocals and it sounds great.

Definately check out the two previous Emperor cds-IX Equilibrium, and Anthems to the Welkin. Also, yes the DVD for Emperial live Ceremony is amazing! The other two bands/cds I would recommend-

I have the following Emperor LP's:
In the nightside eclipse
Anthems to the welkin at dusk
IX Equilibrium
Prometheus

And they're all recommendable. My favorite is "IX Equilibrium", but I haven't heard "Anthems..." that much, as I just bought it recently. The stuff I heard from that demo record or whatever it was, was horrible! "In the..." is almost as good as "IX..." in my opinion.

I'll have to agree completely.... Prometheus was pure unadulterated pomp!

the only emperor cd i own is anthems... and i think it is great, it also seems to be considered their masterpiece so i would recommend it.
