This is definitely not my band in the recording. I'm recording a group of younger kids that are doing a weird, sterotypical hardcore thing. They didn't feel like tracking to a click track, so I find it almost impossble to fix the drum tracks, however they are obviously triggered. haha. I really only need criticism on the actual production on it. It just isn't up there yet. I've only been doing this for a little less than a year, and I really would love the input from you guys. :) Tear it to shreds. I need to get better. haha
Here
Its the first track. I know its myspace quality, I can put it somewhere else if necessary. Thanks guys.

All the guitars are DI.

re-amp maybe?
is this double tracked?
it sounds mono as fuck.

it's a quick fix, but duplicate the guitar track, and then pan them out hard left and right like you would with double tracked guitars. then move the second guitar track forwards anywhere from 5-15ms.
itll sound mono before you move the track and then it'll all of a sudden start sounding double tracked. move the second track until it sounds as close to real double tracking as you can get it, there'll probably be like a PERFECT position for it where it sounds nice and wide, but not too fake. you may have to turn one of the tracks down. when i did this for my doom drone ep (it was entirely improvised, so i couldnt double track) one side sounded way quieter, so turn down the louder one. listen to the entire track and make sure it stays constant in volume.

also, with the "new demo" track on your myspace, is that one of your bands songs or another bands? i really like the sound of it. if its one of your bands songs, could i have a crack at mixing it?

yah dude. Its one mono track. :( There was supposed to be another guitarist coming, but the band broke up 2 days ago, so I'm mixing it with just one. Thanks for that tip. I really appreciate it.

Reamping. Well I understand why and kind of how to do it after reading the sticky, but I have nothing to send the singal from the computer. I have a 5150II sitting next to me and 2 marshall cabs and another little "custom" cab. But, like I said, I have nothing to send out to the input of the amp. I have 2 fp10s? haha would that work? No direct box.

and the "new demo" is just me. All DI guitars, ezdrummer. That was kind of a while back, and I only mad ethat part. There is nothing else to the song. haha. But I could finish it up if you'd like. haha

Thanks for all the help. These forums seem to be a lot more helpful than some others I've lurked.

you could always run it through amp sims. if you feel up for waiting a day, ill run them through a meaty amp sim chain for you
and yeah man, finish that shit off, that tune is tasty, i want to mix it :D
