I play drums when i have time(video)

Dude, Brian, you kick my ass by miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiles man! I like your playing, it's fucking gorgeous :D Your heel toe technique is awesome! Can you play all that stuff with single strokes as well dude, or do you use heel toe as your main "fast kick" technique?

You make me feel ashamed... haha, time to go practise! =)

yeah-ultra sloppy guitars...man I know guitar players that are like 1000x sloppier and they consider themselfs as guitar players!
I really like your style-nice playing and nice drumsound.

brian your drumming is the shit
seriously
im just waiting for the legions of youtube cunts to start shouting "FAKE FAKE FAKE" because it doesnt sound like a drum kit in the room
lolol

great, i love your kick playing, i'm on dw 9000's so i don't think that doing what you are doing is possible, i was blown away by your first vid on technique many months ago. Keep up the good work and get with a crazy metal band(if you aren't already). Sounds like slate drums to me, I think the addictive drums are a little better sounding. I am usually wrong about shit like this tho.

haha thanks bro:) I usually play stuff up to 200bpm with single strokes. Any faster than that and it can get sloppy(and very very tiring). This song is at 210bpm, so almost all the fast parts are heel toe

Nice Playing. Your rolls are really on it.

care to share your Overhead Technique. Mixing and Mic placement??

And what samples are they?

Ther is no real technique to my overheads. I just place them so that the crash on my left is between the mic and the hi hat(otherwise the hats are too loud), and the mic on my right is between the china and crash. I make sure they are the same height, but i dont really worry if they are the same distance from the snare since i resample.
Samples are all slate. new maple toms, snare 11A, and kick 10

Badass, sent it to my drummer.

Why aren't you in MCMB anymore?

I'm working at my studio full time now. I wanted to settle down and buy a house, and those are two things that are not possible when you tour 250 days per year. Plus recording is better money haha:heh:

How long have you been playing? I REALLY need to practice.
almost 7 years. I bought the drumset in that video on my 16th birthday instead of a car, and it was my first set of drums.

haha i expected that anyways since i used triggers. Triggers are about the only fuel flamers need

+1

really nice playing
dont you mic the hihat?
the triggers go to a Edrum module or directly to an interface?

Thank you!
Nope i never mic that hats(even for bands i record). They are usually almost too loud with just overheads. I do mic the ride from time to time if it's a metal band.

The triggers go straight into my 003 pre's, then into a compressor, then into drumagog
