Yeah, I've been tempted to cut mine. Not super short, but somewhere in the middle, which is pretty much just "long hair to everyone else who isn't into metal".

But I'm too attached to the look of long hair in general.

Don't you have your hair shoulder length but with the fringe kept short? If that's the case, here's a tip: Long hair with a short fringe looked fucking ridiculous in the 80s and it still does today.

In fact, whenever I see someone who has decided to grow their hair but keep the fringe at/above eye level it actually genuinely annoys me how stupid it looks. Grow all of your hair or don't grow it at all.

My fringe goes down to my chin. It was short before for ease of seeing but now I'm trying to get it all even length. I agree, the look is fucking retarded.

And just above the shoulders I'm sorry but it's fucking ghey for the most part, plus if you want to tie it with that lenght the ponytail will look so fucking bad.

i'm not saying it's a must, it's just a big part of the whole Heavey Metal thing for me, of course I like having long hair, it's just been a while that i've had it and I love headbanging and stuff on stage. And Necrophagist has a terrible live show in my opinion.

Actually not. I'm gonna feel weird when playing shows with short hair when I cut it. Headbanging is not nearly the same without hair, and dunno how you are on stage, but as my avatar shows I like to move A LOT and headbang till my neck says "I'm done". I probably will be happy with the more comfy hair most of the times, but playing live will feel weird.

Lots of haircuts, Conti and I saying that long hair when you are in a metal band is almost a must because going on stage with long hair is much more fun than with short hair. Headbanging with short hair feels kinda weird if you're not Kerry King, and playing through a whole gig without headbanging once is not acceptable. I'm gonna miss it when it's gone
