I recorded Bleak the other day..

Pretty good. Musically it's solid. Vocals are a little.. well they're decent too. Have you done any others? I like how these personal covers vary a little from the original, it's like hearing them new again.

Which vocals? Growls or the other? Or both..

And yeah, I have recorded several.

Sorry, I dont want to be nasty - but it's fuckin terrible.
The growling is pretty good although it sounds like there's some effect over it? The clean singing ("Devious movements..") is atrocious - it sounds as though you're embarrassed to sing too loud in case someone hears you.
I quite like some of the heavier guitar work but to be honest the drums are so bad they kind of ruin it. And some of it is out of time.
I'm sorry that sounds nasty cos I know it's hard to record something good on a home studio set-up, but I'm just being honest. And really those clean vocasl are fucking terrible - were you scared someone would hear you?

Everytime I tried to sing louder my voice would crack. So, that's the best I could do. I already know I can't sing anyway. The drums are MIDI, if you didn't already figure that out. Thank you for being so brutally honest.

Sorry, I know it sounded like I was having a go but the recording isn't great. Like I say though, I know myself how hard it is to use those home studios and it's obvious you have a lot of talent - at the guitar and the growling anyway! It's a shame people like you and me cant get access to a big budget studio and show people what we can really do!
I use Cubasis (the cheapo version) but it's good for farting around. I made a track the other day and it sounds like St Anger! (Without the frying pans).
Good luck with your music mate, just listen to the bonus track on Morninrise and you'll see how a shitty recording set up can make genius sound bad.

aah, the good ol' midi with guitars.

I was actually crappin around with bleak a while ago. I think I got a better sound, but lazy as I am I never finished the recording.

You're distortion is pretty good btw. With a real rhythm section it would sound great.

The growls are pretty good. The clean ones aren't, but at least you mostly get the notes right.

awesome effort man.
With better recording software/hardware you could really make it sound great.
good points: guitar work and growls
negative points: clean vox, if improved the song would be great.

Guys, it's midi drums with guitar probably recorded straight into the computer. What do you expect? That probably took a long ass time to make. I can never make the drums right, what program did you use for them? I say very good effort and good playing.
