I scored a metal zone for $35.

That Metal Core pedal looks fraught with aids.

I remember back in the day I played a huge show and there was a JCM 2000 and a tubescreamer and someone opted instead to use the clean channel with a Metalzone. I also remeber the good old days of me hooking up two small marshall practice amps with the gain jacked and addin the Metalzone in front.......
Oh Happy Days.

Gonna do an A/B of before and after the modding I did with everything at 12 o clock. I will post the 5150 test settings as well, and reamp both clips for "sameness".

I can't even turn it on at the moment and I have to mount the switch but once I do I will post a post and pre mod clip. Worse case scenario I have to sell it on ebay to some shmuck who will see the word "mod" and think "cool I will have this crazy kewl pedal that nobody else has for da uber monies."

Either way no big deal money wise.

The mod added more gain. All well, it does sound a bit better to my ears anyhow, the opamp replacement sounds pretty good I put a Burr Brown OPA2134PA in place of the old M5218A and swapped out a bunch of other shit as well.

Anyhow since the ftp is down you will have to go here for the results, no post production done at all and the drum track was left in just for listening purposes.

Settings were all at 12 o clock. 5150 settings were:

Rhythm CH
pre: 4.5
Crunch and bright on
Low: 6
Mid: 4
High: 7
Post: 2
Res: 7
Pres: 7.5

Both clips are sm57 dead center on the cone and they were not moved and reamped each time for consistency.
