I'm too indecisive when it comes to purchasing any new equipment. I have narrowed the selection down to one of three Celestions; the ever popular V30, the much more monetarily appealing G12T Hot 100, or the G12K-100. If I were running into a 4x12 cab, I would say fuck it and go with the V30 option, however I've seen a lot of people say that using a Hot 100 or G12K-100 in a 1x12 combo gives a massive sound. Can any of you guys with a little more knowledge help a brother out? I use the combo for frequent gigging as well as recording, and we play classic, thrash and power metal, no super low 7 string riffage if that helps.
Also, I know the stock Sheffield is rated at 16 ohms, the amp is switchable to either 4, 8, and 16 ohm impedance. Whatever speaker I end up getting, should I just stick with 16 ohm speakers, or is there some unknown benefit to running it in 8 or 4? Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer, trying to get this tone shit sorted out!
