I was apparently the topic of conversation at the library department heads' meeting

they talked at length about the fact that my letter of resignation was "the shortest one [they've] ever received". i heard this from someone was was sitting in. they seemed to think it was funny and compared it to other letters that were several paragraphs of jargon and thanks and whatnot.

i mean come on! i'm resigning in two months! and they've known for a month and i've already sent long emails about "thanks this and that". this was just the formal letter with the date that they can print out and send to the higher-ups at BC central to process my last paycheck.

I've only turned in one letter of resignation, it was written on a scrap of paper towel from the men's room: "This is my two week notice." I worked at Kmart.

I didn't technically quit, but I had planned on that being my last day and just walked out giving the boss the finger. He chased me to the car, that maniac.

The longest resignation letter I gave was a paragraph of about 4 lines. No point getting very verbose when you quit.
