I'm thinking about getting one of these, have any of you guys played or owned one and basically what are your thoughts on it?

I haven't owned an RG model, but I own a GRX model, very similar to that series. Basically, anything Ibanez makes as far as guitars go is good. Even the lowest priced ones get the best sound for the price. you can check out my rig here www.freewebs.com/nocturnalsun to see what I have. I'm very happy with my Ibanez and I bet you'll be too. My guitar teacher plays 4 Ibanez guitars and he loves em to death. The Satriani ChromeBoy, a Jem Vai (with tree of life inlay), a Prestige series, and an RG sumthin or other. He loves em all. Basically, the sound is more or less determined by the amp. Ibanez amps are shitty to say the least... but the guitars are high class. Go with it if u want it. I strongly recommend em.
