I just picked up an old school Ibanez UE400 analog effects unit. It's a very early model and someone once told me that the overdrive channel on it is sports the same chip as the original 808 Tubescreamer. I have a reissue TS-808, so I put them in a side-by-side comparison. It sounds identical to me. Does anyone know for sure? I was gonna take the cover off and look at the chip, but havn't had a chance yet. The unit also has a compressor, phaser, and chorus.. The footswitch even has the same buttons on it as the original TS-808 (the little metal squares). Very cool old unit and it sounds killer!
