Iced Earth's new one

I mostly prefer British and European metal and I have disliked Iced Earth, but after hearing those promo songs I must say I'm really positively surprised. I think Ripper was never allowed to use his voice like that in Judas Priest; 3/4 of the songs are sort of even quiet, and his beautiful voice is given the space it needs. When thinking f.ex. about Jugulator, I think Ripper's voice was almost totally lost there. It could have been anyone growling there. But this sure sounds promising!

Another thing then is that one songs is about how "the sleeping giant is asleep no more" and stuff like that, being connected to 9/11 and recent American wars. That one is for the Americans then I think. To me it means nothing.

This is my year:

1) Iron Maiden's Dance of Death

2) Halford back to Judas Priest

3) Ripper goes to Iced Earth

Old-school metal never dies!!!!
