I got the chance to meet him while living in houston. While he IS a very nice and humble guy, i just dont dig the Machine like quaity in his playing. Believe me its not cause i cant play like that, It just seems to Sterile to me.

Now i will say Franchesco Ferrari is FAR WORSE, he has no MELODIC sence what so ever, but Rusty just isnt my thing. When hes with his and i think hes ALOT better. Check out Outworld they are really good

Ferari just plain sucks.

Rusty is a really nice guy tho, and I find his technical level admirable.

I really didn't dig Rusty until I saw him playing with an actual band. He's still not totally my thing, but he's cool, and a respectable player.

He certainly gets high speed when playing a ton of consecutive notes, and I think doing those videos in the old days really got him some attention to the point where he was known more for videos than music.

I will watch his videos from time to time. But not for very long, as I can't stand a buzz of notes unless there is some sort of melodic phrasing in there. Very fast and technical player though. He has an admirable speed level, which is a pretty hard level to get to.

I'm looking forward to Outworld, the samples from his site sound pretty cool to me. I'm hoping that when the CD comes out, it will balance out his shred playing a bit.

It's also a bonus they have Kelly Carpenter on vox - that guy really impressed the hell out of me on Beyond Twilight: Section X - way better that Lande...

Yeah I totally agree. I don't really like Rustys playing much, though theres no doubting he is fast as shit; but he is infinitely better than Farreri who has virtually no note definition when he gets up to speed, and can't string a phrase together to save his life.

I have this one video of him where it sounds like he's not even playing in key, its so bad. That guy needs guitar lessons, no joke! Unless he actually has no natural sense of melody, in which case he's probably beyond help.
