If it were up to me, this record would definitely be diverse: melodic (like The Ritual), but also fast (like The Legacy) and catchy with a little bit of that rock and roll vibe they' d manage to capture here and there over the years (like Practice) with a great, powerful sound (like The Gathering). The length of the songs would also vary- some short killers and some complex, ambitious longer songs. It would have a lot of long, melodic and technical solos done mostly by Alex with Eric adding his two cents here and there (including some furious guitar duels between both axemen). At least one bass solo. As for the vocals- they'd be differential- with the dominance of melodic singing accompanied by some old-school high-pitched shrieks and screams and an occasional growl or shout here and there. I'd definitely wish there would be a huge display of fabulous technique and a lot of innovations and unique accents, without loosing the catchiness at the same time. At least 14 songs and, yes, two discs- one more melodic and radio-friendly so to say and the second one perhaps heavier, faster and more modern (that's just fantasising, of course.but I've had this idea for a couple of years). A ballad or two would be most welcome for two reasons: 1. because Testament writes the best ballads 2. because that's always been a good lure to attract new fans. An instrumental or two would also fit very well. Also at least two professional videoclips and huge promotional offensive to ensure great selling..oh yes- and the succeeding albums coming out with no more than 2 years in between them....well, dreaming is easy..
