hi
I'm teaching Zora Neale Hurston's Their Eyes Were Watching God and tomorrow morning (and next Tuesday) we're doing a short "response" where the students view a picture of some sort and write their impressions about it.
it doesn't need to be connected to the themes of TEWWG much, although I guess it would help if it involves African-American women. but not necessary. this is just an intro to the class for the day.
anyyywayy if you post some APPROPRIATE pictures that would be awesome!
I am using that Mark Ryden pic Amanda posted a while ago for the class doing The Bluest Eye. my interpretation of it means that it shares some similar themes with TBE and even if the kids don't all get that, they'll enjoy the pic or maybe think of something even cooler!
