It's been on my list of movies to see for a while now. I dunno, though, Gus Van Sant's work is pretty hit-and-miss for me. Heard lots of great things about this though, did well at Cannes in 2003 too.

Yep. Well, it's about a school shooting anyway.

For an excellent book about a similar subject, go and read the very funny "Vernon God Little" by DBC Pierre.

It was inspired by Columbine, but it's not really "about" that.

Yeah, and I wouldn't say it was LOOSELY based on it either... it has a lot in common with the actual shootings.
