If you've got strong political opinions...

The people on that board don't seem very intelligent. I'm not exactly Einstein Jr. or I would be on a different MB than one about metal, but I am intelligent enough to know not to beleive in everything I see, hear or read. I know many many people from over 10 years of net experience. They come from all races, religions and from all parts of the world.
I have Muslim friends and one in particular I have known for about seven years that is a very dear person to me. She never mentions anything about the war in Iraq though I am sure she is strongly against it because her friendship with me is more important than the way my government handles foreign affairs.
My most local store is owned by a family from Nepal. People from Nepal are mostly Hindu or Buddhists. Few are Muslim, but people from Nepal, like those from India look very similar to the Islam countries. one woman that works in the store can't get a driver's license because she is has only a work permit and the State of Alabama will not issue a license to someone with just a work permit. She walks back and forth to work everyday and always gives a smile to her customers and asks how they are doing.
I am scared to death that someone will "Assume" she is a "camel jockey" and pull over one day and beat the shit out of her. She has nothing to do with the terrorism that was committed on this country but I am afraid she might have to pay for it.
Anyone here (talking about that forum not this one) that has a problem with her being here should basically pack their shit up and fly back to England or wherever their ancestors came from because unless you are 100% native American, you or your family were immigrants at one time and that is how this country was founded.

The great poem in which is written in stone at the footsteps of "The Statue of Liberty" reads"

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,

With conquering limbs astride from land to land;

Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand

A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame

Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name

Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand

Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command

The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

"Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she

With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

With the turmoil that has shaken our country, I believe 100% in taking extra special measures to protect the citiczens of this great country. Having said that, this great coutry was based on personal freedom and I would give my life to keep it that way. Race, religion nor ethnicity makes anyone American nor one not an American.

What forum do you mean Bryant?

The Billy Milano forum. My stance is the same in any forum, but my angst was directed toward that forum, not this one. Most people here are mature and have the ability to be reasonable. People on that forum don't seem to have that ability.
I am not much better than that forum though. I am unfaltering in my opinion as far as that is concerned. I believe I am right and I will challenge anyone and everyone on this whole earth who doesn't like it. As I said, the ethnic and cultural diversity is what makes America the best country in the world and I will defend those in America that have brown skin, just as much as I will those who have black, white, yellow or red skin.
I don't lose. I never have and I never will. I am far from Superman as I am simply a lowly electrician, but when I raise my voice about something I feel that strongly about, I can back up any statement I make from the constitution of the USA. The USA is a country of tolerance and freedom. I will defend it as such and I live it as such.

If that is the case Hawk, I will never let you down. I curse at the management at my job on a weekly basis because they are stupid. They would like to fire me if they could, but they need me.
I stand for what is best for my company, not what those dopes in charge think. I am a professional problem solver, not simply a mechanic and electrician and when our problem is poor managemant, I let them know it is the problem. Maybe I should be in politics.

Please don't! I hold politicians below the lowest of the lowest. I regard them even lower than journalists.

You don't really think it is a coincidence that the greatest mass murderers of the 20th century were politicians?

I will hold my beleifs for the rest of my life Hawk !! I will not give in to anything !!! I have been fired from a job because I cursed out the production and plant manager. I am proud of that and I still was hired for another stupid company that cant manage their way out of......... anything.

I agree with what you said 100% Bryant...anyone ignorant enought to attack someone because they wear a turban or "look" like they are from the Middle East should be deported. And for the record - I hold ALL fundametalists in just as much contempt as the ones who flew planes into our buildings, bombed my fellow Marines in Beirut, blew up the Cole, the embassies is Africa, took hostages in Iran etc. Christians who blow up abortion clinics are just as bad. ELF, the group that burns down buildings and destroys property are fucked up as well. My only point is that if you are going to fight a war, fight to win, not to make people happy. War is horrible, I know that from firsthand experience. It is one of the worst things that mankind has ever perpetrated - but it does happen, that's a fact and a reality that is not debatable. All I am saying is that if you are going to do it, do it to win and don't get bogged down in politics. Unfortunately, we live in a world where sometimes, you have to operate at the lowest common denominator. Being kinder and gentler to a bunch of animals who have NO regard for human life is not going to stop their abuse of women and anyone else that doesn't agree with their particular brand of religion, whatever that may be. If I EVER see anyone abusing or harassing someone simply because of the way they look, I will personally give them something to get violent about. As for the war in Iraq - there's no reason to debate over it - too many people feel too many different ways about it. I am personally glad that Saddam Hussein is not longer in power, but I think there was no easy way to get rid of him and either way you cut it, the Iraqis have a long hard road ahead of them. I would much rather have seen us destroy Iran's nuclear facilities, or North Koreas or do something about Syria, before Iraq. And on top of that, we should be helping out the people being slaughtered by Muslims in Sudan right now...thousands of people are being killed every week...and nobody is doing a damn thing about it.

I can relate to that, one of my best friends is in Bahgdad(is it spelled right)
I haven't seen him since about two years ago, I went to visit him at his fathers house and they told me he was in Bahgdad. I just want to be able to shake his hand when he returns, and not be dressed in black looking down into his motionless body the next time I see him.
I have beat the shit out of anyone who ever fucked with my friends, I've always had the strength and the power to help them, but I could not help him if he were to get into trouble. I've fought with guys hitting girls that were my friends or just strangers, I shoved some guy to the ground that was shoving around my friend who was vietnamese, this guy was mocking his language.
Yes I am racist! Against racist people, which in a way makes me racist against myself, sure I can laugh when my friend of 6 years called me a greazy spick, or an injun, I don't care for what others say to me as long as they are goofing around. But once they are seriouse I'm all over them, and I can cause a lot of damage, I almost got kicked out of school for not kicking the shit out of a teacher who tried to pick a fight with me, she got in my face and tried to get me to hit her or something, she called me a spick, and I took off my suglasses and cleaned them, put them back on and told her in a normal tone "I don't hit women, even if they are idiots." and walked past her, later that week I was called to the office and was told I was going to get expelled for cursing her out and threatening to hit her and that I also shoved her in the hall that day. She tried so hard to get rid of me cause it pissed her off that I did nothing about what she was trying to do. Yes I was a trouble maker at that school, my first two years, but this was my senior year and I stopped making trouble long ago. I graduated and shook her hand befor she saw who I was, she was so pissed.
I have a long list of friends that come frome every race and religion, I am part Indian, mexican, and white. I don't get offended easily, and they all know that, and they know if someone is fucking with them I will do everything in my power to keep them from getting hurt, it's not the way I was raised, my father was very racist against blacks and so many that werrent white or americanized mexicans. I have not spoken to him since I was 18, I woke him up one day and said "Hey dad, I'm moving out, bye" I left in 30 sec. I was already packed into my friends car, I refuse to be around people like him. I am now 21 and will be 22 in January, I'm not very patriotic but I love this country also, it provides so much for so many.
And I am truly sorry if I offend anyone with anything I do or say in these forums, you all know I'm a dumbass, just don't hold it against me.
Later, -RJAIII-

I hate politics threads, but I agree with all you guys say! ;)

"It doesn't matter if you're black or white, it's what's inside your head..."
(By Milano by the way ....)

Bryant, to be fair. I don't think that it's a matter of intelligence. I think it's more of a matter of lack of education on the issues & or the politics. It goes back to what I have said all along. If you can't debate without "sucks" then don't bother. It's that type of mentality, that comes from lack of education. Sometimes it's a matter of choice other times it's not. I doubt these people have been opressed in any manner, so I side with the latter.

Well to be honest I don't know if you stating that speaks well for those people or not. While I agree it is probably ignorance as compared to pure stupididty, but obviously those people have the internet and therefore an unlimited resource of information at their fingertips. It's not really a big deal as we don't have to put up with it here, but just my opinion.

I have nothing against the religion of Islam. The great majority of Muslims are peace loving people. As you said, it is the exremists that are the problem. They interpret the religion a different way and consider those that aren't of their sect to be inferior and non-Muslims to be basically mortal enemies. The are simply brainwashed to be violent and the greatest accomplishment they can attain is to die for Allah.
That is not to say I have even a basic understanding of the Islamic religion, nor of the culture in the middle-east, but while I personally don't agree with the decision to invade Iraq, I can say that what I think America is doing is removing a tyrant dictator and his followers who oppressed the people of that country and attempting to turn it into a democracy.
North Korea's nuclear program doesn't really scare me at all. I hate communism, but the fact is, the North Koreans aren't idiots. The Chinese aren't idiots either. Neither country are going to start a nuclear war. In fact, the former USSR showed that communism doesn't work. The fall of Communist Korea and China will happen in our lifetime. However if some of those
Having said that, if some of those Muslim extremists were able to hijack a nuclear weapon and obtain the technology to learn how to arm it, aim it and fire it, then I would be scared. Most of the Bush naysayers don't think about that type of scenario. I don't think that someone with the mentality to fly jumbo jets into skyscrapers would bat an eye about launching a nuclear weapon. America is waging war in the heartland of the middle-east for world security is the way I look at it.
Basically, this is not about politics. Politics to me are a handful of adults acting like children, hitting each other with snowballs (aka attack campaigns.) I have no interest in that, nor am I particularly a fan of Bush (and even less of Kerry) but after 9/11, foreighn policy became not a matter of politics, but literally life and death.

Well said Bryant...well said...and for the record. I don't particularly like Bush, and I like Kerry even less. Having to choose the lesser of 2 "evils" (I hate to use the word evil but that's how the saying goes. I just wish we would end up with a candidate who takes the best parts of both parties and actually has a well-rounded agenda. I agree with policies of both parties, but then there's the other side of each party that absolutely turns my stomach...
