The people on that board don't seem very intelligent. I'm not exactly Einstein Jr. or I would be on a different MB than one about metal, but I am intelligent enough to know not to beleive in everything I see, hear or read. I know many many people from over 10 years of net experience. They come from all races, religions and from all parts of the world.
I have Muslim friends and one in particular I have known for about seven years that is a very dear person to me. She never mentions anything about the war in Iraq though I am sure she is strongly against it because her friendship with me is more important than the way my government handles foreign affairs.
My most local store is owned by a family from Nepal. People from Nepal are mostly Hindu or Buddhists. Few are Muslim, but people from Nepal, like those from India look very similar to the Islam countries. one woman that works in the store can't get a driver's license because she is has only a work permit and the State of Alabama will not issue a license to someone with just a work permit. She walks back and forth to work everyday and always gives a smile to her customers and asks how they are doing.
I am scared to death that someone will "Assume" she is a "camel jockey" and pull over one day and beat the shit out of her. She has nothing to do with the terrorism that was committed on this country but I am afraid she might have to pay for it.
Anyone here (talking about that forum not this one) that has a problem with her being here should basically pack their shit up and fly back to England or wherever their ancestors came from because unless you are 100% native American, you or your family were immigrants at one time and that is how this country was founded.
The great poem in which is written in stone at the footsteps of "The Statue of Liberty" reads"
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
With the turmoil that has shaken our country, I believe 100% in taking extra special measures to protect the citiczens of this great country. Having said that, this great coutry was based on personal freedom and I would give my life to keep it that way. Race, religion nor ethnicity makes anyone American nor one not an American.
