Illegal immigrants protest

god i feel the same way, fucken dickheads...

their land... MY ASS

first off most mexicans are a mix between spainard and native american so basicly they are bitching about themselves.

secondly, we won that land during the mexican american war, so if they want that land back, maybe they should give mexico back to Spain.

And even if they were all 100% native american, and Europeans never came to the new world, they would most likely be living in a third world country eating there own shit, they should be greatful that america is there.

I say they should get their citizenship legally, learn english and become part of our country instead of outcasts.

Tighter restrictions and a process of establishing who can contribute to society and who is gonna be a whiny, money-milking bastard should be the way this is being dealt with.

It's quickly becoming another Paris.

I THINK THAT ALL THAT BUREAUCRATIC RED-TAPE BULLSHIT NECCASSARY TO BECOME LEGAL IF YOU'RE FROM MEXICO SHOULD BE REPLACED WITH THE FOLLOWING:

IF YOU CAN SPEAK ENGLISH YOU CAN STAY IN AMERICA
BUT IF YOU CAN'T SPEAK ENGLISH, AND YOU CAME FROM MEXICO, THEN WE'RE SHIPING YOU TO SPAIN

heres my spin...

i, just as many of you, cant stand all of the ILLEGAL immigrants in the country... there is no way in hell that mass groups of ILLEGAL immigrants should be able to rally... you dont come into OUR country, hang out for a lilttle while and then DEMAND that our government grant you citizenship! you more than likely dont even know the first thing about America, hell you cant seem to grasp the Visa process to get here legally. Our goverment even helps out ppl who want to come here to work via accomodation. For example, the spanish american citizenship tests.

sooo heres the first problem... why the FUCK arent we packing these ppl up and shipping them back to mexico or spain or colombia even... jesus christ! they are all in ONE SPOT! 400,000 all at once! It doesnt get any easier than that! We have a fucking system, use it, "NO VISA? GO HOME"

Personally I was ok w/ the language barrier. Granted a human will naturally start to pick up a language after being subjected to it for so long, but I honestly dont think to myself "i wonder if that duude in the field out there can speak English." im ok with that... i work at Circuit City, occasionally, spanish speaking customers come in and ask for help en espanol. there is one guy in our store that can speak fluent spanish. if he is not there they are SOL, BUT, they will at least try to communicate across the barrier. some of them even think ahead of time and bring someone that can speak both languages and act as a translator.

and Mike, i agree with feeling like a foreigner in your own country, but realistically, if the government accomodates them, then business will. as a business it broadens their consumers base. any chance for more money, the greedy bastards are alllll over it.

sooo yea.. thats all i remember

But, what´s the big deal? you´re not even real american!! you must remember that mexico had texas before this shit about "illegals", and if mexico receive foreign people who live here, work here and has their spring break here... we don´t cry about this or shoot you! I really don´t know why this people wanted to go to your country, I don´t even like it, prefer europe...well... but you don´t need more hate, with Osama you can be very satisfied...

Yes, ‘illegal’ does mean against the law. And if we define ‘law,’ then illegal means against “a rule of conduct or procedure established by custom, agreement, or authority,” against “a piece of enacted legislation,” etc. But this does not mean that laws do not, or cannot, change to reflect reality on the ground. It does not that all residents and citizens are behaving lawfully all the time. And, it does not mean that illegal individuals will not respect the law if given that opportunity. Additionally, a nation of laws is also a nation of different interpretations of the laws because, after all, laws are there to be interpreted, and typically, the more money you have, the more interpretations you can afford. So, while law-abiding citizens are running around trying to find tax lawyers who’ll introduce them to some grey areas of the law so that Uncle Sam gets less, legal immigrants are filling in their taxes properly as they know that irregular filing or (inadvertent) misuse of the system could cost them their citizenship.

To your question, what makes me think that “we the people of the US are responsible for providing you with a safe and comfortable life?,” I can say this: be assured that you personally didn’t provide me with such commodities, and if I enjoy such a life, I earned it by fighting honestly on my own as many other people have done.

I appreciate your sharing that you put your life on the line for the country and what it stands for, but that act alone does not give you or anyone else the right to imply that you fought and bled for me, that I do not respect the country’s values, that my mind is somehow distorted, and that all of our struggles are comparable, because they are not. I never talked “bullshit about Americans,” as you put it, but rather, I expressed strong disagreement with a particular set of views and beliefs held by some members of this forum. My problem is not “with life and human nature” but with indifference. I don’t need to meet a single illegal person in my life to know that many of them left their countries of origin because of some terrible shit that’s been going on. For why else would someone risk getting caught, injured, or killed at the border or suffocated in a shipping container (as some have)? Why would we think that no such person gives a shit about America? I also wonder what happened to that respect for democracy and human rights, which we’re exporting so generously these days…

tempest:

(1) ‘an undocumented person can go on a killing spree and not be caught’ (you seem to have little faith in the police system; plus, what if an undocumented person were a genius, someone who can actually make your life better?);

(2)‘none of us give a shit about Mexico’ (wow, let’s generalize some more while we’re at it…);

(3) ‘one can get US citizenship if one wants it’ (in what alternate reality is this possible?)

wow. what a nice thread. full of jewels. if guts are a mine, and pieces of shit are jewels; if stiff, then obligatory diamonds (of course, there is always some air that separates those :) )
