Hey!

I don't really wish to steal any thunder from the upcoming events for the Maidens, but as a certain bassist is making her way home to SoCal this week, I figure this would be a good time to share stories, groan at more Toast (and other) silliness, and generally let Mel know how happy we are to have her back!!!

November 26th is a little more than a week away (Mel's debut onstage with Eddies Girlfriends), so this may actually take ten days, but what the hell!!!

I figure this is as good a thread as any to share your favorite Mel story, so kindly post those here!

BTW, if my creativity holds up, I plan to post a new thingie every day except for Thursday (my day off), so should you have any silliness of your own to add, may I suggest that Thursday would be a good day? You are of course free to add silliness on other days too!

Welcome back Mel! We missed ya!!!

:hotjump:

And Linda: So much for the dull roar...
:p

haven't met her sadly but everyone says how cool she is and a friend of mine from over here met her at a Wrathchild gig and some of Maidens US gighs in Cali and said she was cool:)

anyway hope you have a safe trip Mel

I live in Tennessee, so I don't actually see Mel that often...

Anyways, the first time we met (at Kozmos), she walked in with her backpack in denim pants and jacket (typical Mel apparel I would guess). I gave her a chance to do her 'rounds' then when she was not busy I walked up to her and said "Mel?" She nodded and then I said "Mr Toast". She then looked around and said "MR TOAST? Where???" and looked behind me. I'm still not sure what mental picture of me she had before that meeting...

The night of her last Maidens gig (Paladinos), she invited me to hang with her and the posse at Dennys. I very much enjoyed conversing with her in a quieter setting. I asked her about her Okinawa gig, then commented that I bet her 'guys' (the cats) probably really missed her. She said the morning after she got home she awoke to see three sets of furry ears in view above the sheets (the guys had curled up on the bed).
^-_-^ ^-_-^ ^-_-^

I never met Mel in person but have talked to her numerous times on AIM,for two or three hours sometimes.I remember when I went through a break up 3 years ago I was a big wreck at the time, and Mel would ask me in an email or instant message,if I was alright, and if there was anything she could do.That was a dark period in my life and Mel put that bright spot in it!Many thanks to you Mel you are a great friend(even though we rarely talk)!

Well, the stories that did get posted are great!

Now if only Heiress will be so kind as to make an appearance...

If my silliness and attempt to let us all share our love/friendship/appreciation for Mel make her even happier than usual, my job is done... if not, well I tried!

I haven't been lucky enough to meet her during her time in Europe (France and Finland are not exactly close ;) ) but we spoke a few times here...

She manages to sell me a dozen of cats and a Macintosh in less than one hour! Barely joking :D

Those who live near her, take care of her, right?
