"No contest" means you face the same penalty as pleading guilty, not going in to try and make a deal under the "not guilty" phase, but you are not making a guilty claim. This frees you of a lot of liability, despite the fact that you have to serve the penalties of a guilty plea. No, it's along the lines of not incriminating yourself. There could be extrenuating circumstances, like no money for a lawyer or expert witnesses to discredit the prosecution's case. So you yield to the court's demands for restitution, they don't spend the extra money to put you to trial, and you have not plead guilty. It's not exactly equal to "not guilty", and it's not "guilty". You have neither been proven or disproven as a criminal, but will be told that "no-contest" can be as good as a guilty plea.Stormrider1981 said:

apparently i'm part of a legal thing, too.
i was sitting at lunch with this girl i kinda know and this random guy she's friends with and they were playing the "nervous game" and his hand was going down her pants and up her shirt and her hands were going down his pants and she seemed totally fine with it, but now she's pressing sexual assult charges, so i was called into the principal's office to tell someone from the police department what i'd seen since i'm apparently the only witness to this incident.
