Actually, it wasn't as great as we were expecting. It seems that when it gets hot and sunny inland, the coast is substantially cooler and less nice. On the drive there after work Friday we were treated to o ne of the greatest sunsets ever. My sister was already at the ocean while this was happening, so I sent her a text saying "Take pics of that sunset! We're not going to make it in time" and she replied "What sunset? You mean the fog?"
It was grey and cloudy 80% of the time, but on Saturday around 11am the sun came out for a few hours and I found the most awesome path on the beach that made for perfect longboarding. I spent a few hours on it, and took some pics. Other than that, ate lots of good seafood and watched Seahawks preseason game in our room and played with my niece. It was chill for the most part and I even convinced my dad to let me play Shpongle for him on the ride home (I always thought convincing him to hear something that wasn't oldies would be impossible) and he actually told me he really liked it! Mission accomplished!
Here's that sunset I was talking about. I took this from the car as we drove down the freeway.
7.5/10 weekend. Points deducted for unexpected grey weather and getting sick from the home-brewed brown porter that me and my brother in law got from the "micro-brewery" across the street from our lodge.
