im sad guys

People have been bootlegging their original recordings since the 1980s, so they definitely existed back then.

The fact that Terry Jones is clearly much younger on The Time Lord and Volume 1 is more evidence.

Oh, they also have band photos of the band when they were much younger and Alan Jones was a teenager. That would automatically place them in the late 1970s to early 1980s.

I know you like shitposting, but this isn't just a shitpost. It's a shitty post.

Link to bootleg recordings from the 1980s?

Clearly younger in what way?

Link to photos containing proof that they were taken in the early 1980s?

What, post a couple over-saturated photos of some generic blonde dude in a leather jacket, and one extremely blurry photo with a few dudes in robes on a stage, and I'm supposed to automatically believe they were real?

The thing I find amazing is that in spite of this consensus that they were so widely bootlegged in the 90s, I've never seen any proof of that. I've never found a single demo trader that listed any kind of Pagan Altar bootleg/demo for trade, nor have I ever seen any kind of fanzine make mention of them. There is an alleged scan of a tape review from a zine on their website, but it's a zine that hasn't been mentioned anywhere else, and the scan is presumably a repro because it's in comic sans and clearly not on real paper. The early members of the band had virtually no associations with any other bands, and I've never seen any kind of statement from early members outsides of the Jones guys about the band. Jacula was a hoax; no reason Pagan Altar couldn't be one as well.

EDIT: Actually, double-checking it wasn't comic sans, but still look fake af.

Pretty sure Discogs has evidence of someone selling one of those rare bootleg LPs from the 80s or 90s for about $200.

And Pagan Altar doesn't really give a shit about what some sperglord internet warrior thinks TBH.

Meant to say 80s, not 90s. A mid-90s vinyl bootleg means nothing when we're talking about material supposedly recorded in the late 70s, unless there's a convincing paper trail showing that several people had tapes prior to that original vinyl bootleg. Not to mention that bootleggers have a habit of exaggerating years to make things seem that much more tempting.

Sorry, I don't understand gay jokes.

There was an in joke years ago about Tales of Medusa being a joke band because they didn't use social media, their album or demo or whatever was a very limited release and you had to send a letter to the band to get a copy, etc. As a result, people on this board would say that Tales of Medusa didn't exist.

Someone probably can explain it better than me if they remember that so no, it isn't a gay joke. You're just an asshole.

I'm not even that into Pagan Altar but my new expensive mission in life is acquiring one of those rare old records. You had me at "rare bootleg".

Discogs used to have a seller listing for one of the bootlegs of what's now their debut album. That bootleg is also listed on discogs and has pictures of the front, back and LP itself. Metal Archives also has information about the same bootleg. Prove that those listings are false if you want to dispute them.

Explain why Terry Jones sings differently on those recordings and has the vocal traits of a much younger singer than he does on their later albums. He also speaks on one of the songs on Volume 1 and his speaking voice sounds significantly younger than he does on The Lords of Hypocrisy.

The photo that was posted clearly has a younger Terry Jones and Alan Jones in it. Alan Jones in particular is barely an adult in that photo. Other members of the band are also in photographs from that era (including that one) and participated in the reunion.

There's zero evidence that what you're claiming is true, yet there is substantial evidence that the band existed during the 1980s.

I personally think that intentionally causing arguments by posting claims that you know are undeniably false and not even remotely subjective should be bannable.

Lol but our ass backward moderator will say you shouldn't argue with the guy trolling instead of telling him to stop.

I give you exhibit A:

1. Crapping up threads with off-topic discussion, flamewars and holier than thou opinions...
...will not be tolerated. A good thread is NOT to be derailed with personal insults towards other users or insults towards bands, musicians etc. Discussion is good, pointless flamewars will get you nowhere except potentially banned. Off-topic discussion is generally fine, use common sense: it had just better not be pointless bickering. If a thread creator feels that his thread is being derailed by off-topic discussion and he doesn't like it, consider moving the off-topic discussion to some sort of more appropriate thread or PM. DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS! If someone is blatantly trolling, do not reply to those posts.

I bolded the last part. You all blatantly violate what the forum administrator asks you to do by not following my instructions (which 100% mimic what Deron asks). It's not my problem you refuse to follow instructions or that you can't read.

If you ask him to stop and he continues, THEN you report or send a message to me/Deron. It's not a hard concept.

In addition, which again either no one cares about or they just think it's funny to ignore the rules, no one reports his posts. Obviously people are okay with what he posts because they don't get reported. So, in this case, one of two things is occurring:
  1. Either people claim to be butthurt and aren't and just like to complain
  2. You really don't give a shit about what he posts

I can't be everywhere at once (although it would be nice). I feel like I have to spoon feed shit to you guys every 2 months or so with this garbage.

And to date no one has messaged Deron about my conduct so apparently I'm not doing anything against forum policy.

Okay, I reported posts by him where he clearly makes claims that he knows are untrue in order to start an argument with people who were discussing a band. Now you can do something about it.

I would do it, but I'd just ban people like HBB as soon as I got the power.

I refused to stop answering his questions on this thread because it was just getting ridiculous.
