edit: Oh yeah, the reason Leif isn't mentioned as much is because the Viking settlement died out and it never put the Americas on the map for the Europeans. Had they colonized and stayed there, he would be credited.

Well that's possible, but I've only heard of them being around Nova Scotia, down into northern Maine a bit, and up a little ways into Canada.

Haha, thanks, I found it on the net somewhere a while back. You can try just shrinking whatever you want to use till it's small enough.

actualy the reason that colombus is credited wtih discovering america and not leif erikson is 100% brought down to one thing, and thats the fact that columbus had kept a journal/log about his journeys. leif erikson didnt keep any log or anything so everyone gives columbus credit (for some reason). even though everyone factualy proves that leif erikson was there first chris get credit for having a log or some shit.

About the Vikings in Minnesota, there was something called the Kinsington Runestone found there during the 1800's. Its validity has been up for question since it was found, but if authentic, it puts the Vikings in that area sometime during the 1300s. Fuck Columbus! He was no Norseman.
