Impulses and Pedal boards

I think:

Tube-Screamer > Real Amp > V-pedal > Impulses & FX in there > Straight to PA.

In parallel you'd split the amp's speaker out to go to a dummy load, and also go out of one of the outputs of the Vpedal to give yourself direct monitoring.

It's beautiful. Can't ask for something much more convenient than that... short of praying that amp modeling stops sucking and negates the need for the head! I wonder if the v-pedal would allow for some kind of 'MIDI thru' amp switching. That'd be great.

I think using a simple laptop set up with a decent soundcard would do. Wouldn't be that HEAVY METAL now would it.

i was about to say - a basic laptop with Rev. MKIII would cost less than any of those pedal solutions - and if you're using it ONLY as a guitar amp sim, latency shouldn't be much of a problem
