In The Absence Of Truth

That youtube video was great. One of the best songs on the album and has such an epic ending. I wish they would have had singing in the rehearsal though. Awesome!

Two things I can't stand about Isis: the vocals and the recording quality. I like some of their songs, but they'd be better off never singing. And the recording quality just leaves something to be desired. Just like Pelican, they'd greatly benefit from better production.

Shouldn't every album by Isis (or Pelican or pretty much any band of this ilk) be subtitled "In the absence of a new album by Neurosis..."?

I don't think so. take Oceanic for example, that albums is actually pretty relaxing and "comfortable", in contrast to any of Neurosis' albums. Through Silver in Blood in particular, but the last one too.

Let me just add, Isis has the best clothing design of any band. I have two tees and a hoodie, and they all look really good and fit. Most metal bands shirts are way too big and have some shit album art on the front. Aaron Turner is the fucking man.

I really have to agree here! I'm a tiny guy and can basically never buy metal hoodies, even if they're small sized. This Isis hoodie fits perfectly! Hope to get a t-shirt when they next come down to Australia. Well, they better come back.

I love the album, although i prefer Oceanic and Panopticon. ITAOT sounds so much calmer and cleaner than the other albums i own (Oceanic, Panopticon and Celestial), yet it also sounds much heavier at points. Saw them live yesterday... was an amazing show, especially with an extended version of Celestial (The Tower) which was around 17 minutes long :p . They did play a few songs from the new album, including "Not In Rivers, But In Drops", which is one of my fav songs from ITAOT. Don't think they played "So Did We" though, which is a pity, although I missed a bit...
