Industrial tone - Drop A tuning

Is the snare gated or expanded?
Anyhow I love that kind of snare sound.
It should be like a fucking hammer digging its way into your skull, in a good way! ;D

And I think that the kick is at good levels, sure its loud as hell, but it sounds right this way.

Guitar settings:

No post-processing, all EQ in Revalver, no extra (multiband) compression on the guitars either.

Input voltage: 2 Volts. Remember this is highly dependant on your pickups, EMG 81/85 here.

I had a tubescreamer in front of it, 808 => Tone max, gain @ 0, balance 12 o'clock.

No gate/expander. It's the 2bus comp that makes it snappy.
Got that tip from Slate: VCA style comp, 4:1 ratio, about 2-4db reduction, 10ms attack, auto release.

Just replaced the snare (Snare15 for those who want to know) and send some of the Z4 ambience on it. Snare15 is fat and snappy as hell. Love it.

YO! nice! thx for sharing the info... how did u make the bass? i'm having probs in the lowend since i'm in drop A. I'm trying with trilogy but there's no A

Maybe the edirol bass? i cant remember what VSTi it's in, but it's quite a good bass that can go low.

Forget about trilogy or reason's clawfinger bass.. the last one completely loses defenition once lower then B.
